Which Cleaning Products Work Best?
It seems like every time I mention to anyone that I am a professional housekeeper, I get one of two common responses…..”That’s hot!” or “What product work best on….?” The truth is that while one is more flattering than the other, I’ll leave it to you to decide which one, I am speechless each time. Housekeeping is a very difficult job to do! It’s not glamorous by any means. And if at any point in your life you’ve been fortunate enough to have to do it, whether it be as a full-time homemaker or professional housekeeper, you know what I am talking about. However, it also happens to be an instantly rewarding/gratifying job! How you may ask? Easy, dirty is dirty and clean is clean. Since I could remember I have loved to clean. I know there’s something wrong with me, or as my loving husband likes to put it “It’s a sickness”. The fact is that when I am cleaning there is only one conclusion…..cleanliness. Which I like to put next to Godliness! In the many years that I have been cleaning, I have not only experimented with various cleaning products but also created a few concoctions of my own. While I’m not about to give you all my secrets, that would be business suicide for me, I will point you in the right direction. Remember I only use non-toxic, biodegradable, and environmentally friendly products! I truly prefer products by Ecover. Not only are they a company that has been around for over 20 years, but they also embody what it truly means to be a ‘green’ company. They use all solar power for production, grass on their roof for insulation, and all of their products are completely biodegradable. For more information on their products and all of the details on the company check out www.ecover.com. I also like the Method brand products that you can buy at Target or www.methodhome.com. Method makes a great granite and stainless steel cleaner and I have found that all of their products are fairly affordable. Mrs. Meyer’s makes cleaning products that not only work, but smell great too! All of the Mrs. Meyer’s cleaning products are aromatherapeutic, now you too can feel the therapy that is cleaning (www.mrsmeyers.com). Shaklee is a brand that I was just recently introduced to, but apparently has been around for over 50 years (www.shaklee.com)! I really like their Germ Off Disinfecting Wipes, they’re good for those quick bathroom clean-ups as well as those baby messes. Well this is just enough info. to get you started. Of course because of the complexity of different surfaces you really just have to try a couple out before you find one that really works for your home. I really can’t go wrong with any of the Ecover products, so really that’s a good place to start. And remember to always test products in a very inconspicuous part of whatever surface you are cleaning, to avoid making an even bigger mess.
